Jake De Guzman ’22 Honored with New Jersey State Governor’s Award

Senior Jake De Guzman was recently honored with the 2021 New Jersey State Governor's Jefferson Award in the Youth In Service category. According to The Governor's Office of Volunteerism, which administers the award, honorees "lead and inspire both peers and adults to participate in volunteer efforts and/or those youth who are dedicated to establishing new or supporting existing community service programs."

State Champion

Congrats to 8th Grader Henry Griffiths who won the NJ State Championship in the National Series of US Youth Soccer with his team Ironbound Soccer Club. The Club is supported by the Archdiocese of Newark and the Boys and Girls Club of Newark. Henry scored a goal in the NJ State Cup semi finals and then scored the first and last goals in the final. The team has qualified for Nationals in June!

2nd Annual Rams Run Together Virtual 5K

Blake Duddy '26 Wins Chess Competition

The Middle School competed in the Chess Tournament on November 9th as part of the Consortium of Middle Schools and 8th grader Blake Duddy came in first place individually! Overall as a team, OP placed 2nd. Great job guys!

School Closed October 26

Due to the State of Emergency and flash flood warning, Oratory Prep will be closed on Tuesday, October 26. There will be no athletics or after school activities. Please be safe.

Merit Scholars Announced

We are so pleased to announce that we have seven seniors who have been given the designation of Commended Student by the National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended students are recognized for their exceptional academic promise as demonstrated by outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry. These students are part of a group of 34,000 highest scorers in the country. Join us in congratulating Andrew Ashton, Jack Devine, Matthew Faughnan, Alexander Fudenna, Sebastian Murray, Grant Raincsuk and Joshua Sun.

National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars Announced

Congratulations to Sebastian Murray and Ethan Fernandez for being designated as College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars. Based on their remarkable academic achievements and outstanding performance on the PSAT and/or AP they have been selected for this prestigious honor. We are proud that our students have earned this recognition and congratulate them for their achievements in the classroom and on the College Board assessments.

9/11 Art Contest Winner

The City of Elizabeth hosted an art contest for youth residents under the age of 18 for drawings to display for the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Out of all the submissions, the city chose 10 drawings, and sophomore Jaden Medina was selected. His artwork will be on display at the 9/11 memorial in Elizabeth. In addition to being selected for the memorial, it was chosen to be displayed at the Elizabeth Art Show for the month of September.
