Congratulations to the Rambotics Team for a great showing at the Emerson Robotics Meet yesterday! Jack Devine, John Bruzzese, Josh Sun, Nick Carobene, Robert Massaroni, Alex Parisi, Noel Valente, and Keegan Murphy navigated the Rambot to win 2 of our 5 matches. The team is looking forward to its league tournament next Sunday.

Congratulations to the St. Philip Neri Club for receiving the 2021 New Jersey State Governor’s Jefferson Award for outstanding leadership service to the community. The Jefferson Awards are a National Volunteer Recognition Program established by the American Institute for Public Service in cooperation with the U.S. Senate and the White House. Volunteer Groups are recognized for fostering a sense of greater community and well-being, directly impacting the lives of children, the elderly and less fortunate among us. The St. Philip Neri Club, over 100 members OP Ram strong, give thanks to the entire OP community for helping make a significant difference in our world.

Senior Jake De Guzman was recently honored with the 2021 New Jersey State Governor's Jefferson Award in the Youth In Service category. According to The Governor's Office of Volunteerism, which administers the award, honorees "lead and inspire both peers and adults to participate in volunteer efforts and/or those youth who are dedicated to establishing new or supporting existing community service programs."

Congrats to 8th Grader Henry Griffiths who won the NJ State Championship in the National Series of US Youth Soccer with his team Ironbound Soccer Club. The Club is supported by the Archdiocese of Newark and the Boys and Girls Club of Newark. Henry scored a goal in the NJ State Cup semi finals and then scored the first and last goals in the final. The team has qualified for Nationals in June!

The 2nd Annual OP Rams Run Together Virtual 5K will take place between 11/12 - 11/15! We need everyone to make this a success! Click the headline to register! Let's have fun while we raise money to support OP!

The Middle School competed in the Chess Tournament on November 9th as part of the Consortium of Middle Schools and 8th grader Blake Duddy came in first place individually! Overall as a team, OP placed 2nd. Great job guys!

Due to the State of Emergency and flash flood warning, Oratory Prep will be closed on Tuesday, October 26. There will be no athletics or after school activities. Please be safe.

We are so pleased to announce that we have seven seniors who have been given the designation of Commended Student by the National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended students are recognized for their exceptional academic promise as demonstrated by outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry. These students are part of a group of 34,000 highest scorers in the country. Join us in congratulating Andrew Ashton, Jack Devine, Matthew Faughnan, Alexander Fudenna, Sebastian Murray, Grant Raincsuk and Joshua Sun.
