Messages from the Development Team
Dear Friends of Oratory,
It is with great pleasure that I write to you as the newest member of the Development Team. I am so excited to have the opportunity to serve the school in this capacity, knowing that I am a part of this vibrant, caring, supportive community that we all affectionately call OP. In order for any community to function at its highest capacity, it takes a dedication on behalf of all of it stakeholders, and we see that at our school reflected in our students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff. Together, we collectively make a difference, which in turn protects the legacy of Oratory both today and in the years to come.
As we continue to plant the seeds that will shape the future of our school, we ask for your continued support both in talent and time and through the generosity of your resources. We are grateful for those who have given and will continue to give in these areas, which will enable those seeds of the future to grow into wonderful opportunities for the young men of Oratory Prep.

Welcome Back Alumni,
I hope you enjoyed our alumni newsletter. A big thank you to our alumni who responded to our request for information. One of the highlights in the update was Career Day which brought out 10 alumni who are experts in their field. Our juniors and seniors were given a lot to think about in planning their future. If you would like to be a part of Career Day 2019, drop me a note.
I am still giving tours of DeGaeta Hall and you are all welcome. The most common observation is "this reminds me of a college campus." I hope you are taking advantage of our new fitness facility in DeGaeta. Workout hours are 7-8 AM and 3:00- 5:30PM, Monday to Thursday, and 7-8AM and 3:00-4:30PM on Friday. Although some of our facilities are new, this fall we welcomed the return of seasoned history teacher Jack Horan, who is now teaching part time.
Our biggest fundraiser of the year, the annual golf outing, was yet again a rousing success. A big thank you to our 99 alumni and alumni parents who supported the event at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit. Mark your calendars for some of our events coming up in November and December. Help ring in the holiday season with our annual bar night the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and at OP, Black Friday means our annual alumni soccer game. The game starts at 10 AM. Over the holiday break in December, we are hosting a Basketball Christmas tournament on the 28th and 29th. Catch up with your fellow alumni at this popular event. Finally, Please join us in our new chapel as we celebrate mass at 7:40 AM. The chapel is located in the old cafeteria in Bain Hall.
Thank you for all your support!
