Beyond the Classroom
From athletics to campus ministry, tournaments, knowledge competitions, student council, service and more, Oratory Prep Middle School students have no shortage of opportunities to become active members of the school community.
At Oratory Prep, Middle School students are encouraged to get involved, try new things, and become active members of the school community. Life beyond the classroom gives students the chance to build friendships, develop leadership skills, serve others, and experience the Brotherhood that makes OP feel like home.
Middle School students have opportunities to participate in athletics throughout the year, with one to two sports offered during each of the three athletic seasons. These teams help students develop teamwork, discipline, confidence, and school spirit while preparing them for future participation at the Upper School level.
Students may also take part in NJ School Consortium events, including spelling bees, volleyball tournaments, general knowledge competitions, and other activities that allow them to represent OP beyond campus.

Leadership and service are also important parts of the Middle School experience. Students can become involved in Student Council, Campus Ministry, and service opportunities such as Bridges, the NJ Food Bank, the Christmas Toy Drive, St. Jude Math-a-Thon, School Supply Collection, and Altar Server Ministry.
As members of the larger Oratory Prep community, Middle School students are also invited to participate in many High School extracurricular and co-curricular activities, giving them access to a wide range of interests, clubs, and school traditions.
