Counseling & Standardized Testing

At Oratory Prep, our Counseling Department supports the academic, personal, and social growth of every student. Each student is paired with a counselor who serves as a consistent point of contact throughout his time at OP.

 

Working in partnership with students, families, teachers, and administrators, counselors guide academic planning, course selection, study skills, and goal setting while encouraging involvement in athletics, extracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, and career exploration. The team also provides support for students receiving special services with appropriate documentation.

 

Oratory Prep provides standardized testing opportunities as part of its college preparatory program. Students complete a sequence of assessments designed to support academic growth and long-term planning. In grades 9 and 10, students take the PSAT 8/9 and PreACT, while all juniors take the PSAT and ACT as they begin the college admissions process.

 

Students enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) courses are registered for AP Exams through the official College Board testing program, providing opportunities to demonstrate mastery of advanced coursework and potentially earn college credit.
