The Mock Trial team defeated Kent Place last night to win OP’s 13th County title and 8th in a row. The Plaintiff team delivered, with attorneys Nick Sannito and Will Sanyour and witnesses Joe Marchese, Fernando Aviles, & Chris Uustal. The team advances to the State Regionals on Thursday.

Congratulations to 7th Grader Nicholas DeRosa and 8th Grader Blaine Chestnut who both won awards at the Middle School Mass during Catholic Schools Week. Blaine won the St. Philip Neri Arms of God Award which is awarded for volunteer service, while Nicholas won the St. Philip Neri Joyful Disciple Award which is awarded for embracing the OP way and joyfully witnessing the Gospel.

At the NJ Youth Soccer Awards Dinner on Friday night Luke Bernstein '20 received the NJ Youth Male Referee of the Year Award. The award was presented by NJ Youth Soccer and the NJ State Referee Committee. Luke has been a soccer referee for several years and is currently a Grade 8 ref working MCYSA, EDP and US Soccer Development Academy Games.

On Wednesday, January 30, Oratory Prep will be on a two-hour Delayed opening. All students should report to school by 10 AM. All buses and shuttles will run on a two hour delayed schedule. Please drive carefully. Any further updates will be sent by 7:30 AM.

Congratulations to OP juniors James Kim, Steven Fudenna, and Jack Coyne on their performance with the CJMEA Symphonic Honors Band. The band is comprised of students recommended by their directors from all over central New Jersey. The boys rehearsed and performed with nationally renowned composer and conductor Patrick Burns.

Eighth grader Brandon Franks was recently awarded a Silver Key Scholastic Award for his magnificent Raku pottery named Black Sea. Congratulations Brandon!

Senior John Spitznagel, of Summit, scored the 100th point of his high school hockey career on Monday in a game against St. Rose.
