Counseling and Special Services

At Oratory Prep, we support the development of the whole student, with a focus on academic success, social-emotional growth, and college readiness. Our counseling team works to ensure that each student is known, supported, and appropriately challenged throughout his time at OP.

 

Each counselor is assigned a caseload of students and meets with them individually to monitor progress, provide guidance, and help them set and work toward meaningful goals. Regular check-ins allow counselors to stay connected to students' needs and provide consistent support. We also encourage students to communicate openly with their counselor and advocate for themselves when challenges arise, so concerns can be addressed early and effectively.
 
Nearing the end of Junior year, students begin working with our Director of College Counseling. Oratory Prep takes a collaborative approach to college counseling, synthesizing input from students, their parents, and relevant school personnel. We strive to make the college process seamless, as it is an exciting time for our seniors.
 
As counselors, we want our students to feel challenged, yet engaged in their learning environment. Our department knows the importance of community and connectedness, and we strive to deliver that experience to all students.
