The academically talented high school seniors who are selected for this honor, have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth $33 million. About 1.4 million juniors entered the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2013 PSAT/NMSQT which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, which represents less than 1% of high school seniors, includes the highest scoring entrants in each state. Congratulations Alex!
