For nearly twenty years, Vickie Candon was a beloved member of the faculty at Oratory Prep, known not only for her dedication in the classroom but also for her deep devotion to the Blessed Mother. A statue of Mary held a special place in her classroom, serving as a daily symbol of faith and inspiration for both Vickie and her students.
Upon her retirement, the statue was gifted to Vickie as a meaningful reminder of her years at Oratory and the many students she cherished. After her passing, her daughter thoughtfully returned the statue to Oratory, believing it belonged in the place her mother loved so deeply.
Today, the Blessed Mother has been returned to Mrs. Candon’s original classroom in the Bain Building—a touching homecoming that honors her legacy and serves as a lasting reminder of her faith, her vocation, and her enduring impact on the Oratory community.
