Class of 1975 alumnus Pat DiGiovanni often reflects on the foundation Oratory Prep gave him. Kevin Donnelly and Joanne Finnen visited Pat in San Antonio two years ago, where he shared how the school prepared him academically while shaping the values, confidence, and curiosity that guided his life after graduation. Mentors, classmates, and campus opportunities broadened his perspective and became the bedrock of a 35-year career in city management and nonprofit leadership; fields rooted in service, integrity, and community impact.
After graduating, Pat built a successful career in public service, holding leadership roles across the United States. He frequently recognized Oratory’s influence in his decision to pursue a bachelor’s degree in political science and later a Master’s in Public Administration.
In gratitude, Pat has established the DiGiovanni Legacy Scholarship for a rising senior at Oratory planning to pursue a Liberal Arts degree. The scholarship will support a student who demonstrates intellectual curiosity and a commitment to a broad, human-centered education. Pat hopes it encourages future graduates to pursue their passions boldly, just as he was encouraged decades ago. He remains deeply grateful to the teachers, staff, and classmates from Oratory Prep who shaped his life.
