This fall marked an outstanding season for the Oratory Prep Middle School boys’ soccer team. The Rams finished with a strong 5–3 record and earned the No. 1 seed in the Middle School Athletic Conference Tournament, a reflection of their consistent effort and growth throughout the season. Their postseason play matched that success, as they advanced all the way to the MSAC Tournament finals.
Along the way, the team recorded two impressive victories over Pingry, defeating them 5–4 during the regular season and again in the MSAC Tournament semifinals by a score of 2–1. During the regular season, Oratory Prep also competed closely with St. Benedict’s Prep, narrowly falling 2–1 in the final two minutes of the match. While varsity programs are separate from middle school competition, it is worth noting that Pingry’s varsity team is state-ranked and St. Benedict’s Prep fields the top-ranked varsity team in the country. Competing closely with, and defeating, schools with such well-established feeder programs speaks volumes about the quality, preparation, and resilience of our student-athletes.
Several players played key roles in the team’s success. Goalkeeper Chris Fay was outstanding in goal, making numerous key saves throughout the season and serving as a vocal, confident leader from the back, highlighted by a penalty kick save against St. Benedict’s Prep. Center back Sean Galbally provided a calm and composed presence along the back line, anchoring the defense with consistency and poise. In the midfield, Emmanuel John’s speed and technical ability stood out, as he contributed numerous goals and assists. Up top, forward Miller Rann led the team in goals, using his physicality and strong attacking presence to challenge opposing defenses all season.
Looking ahead, the foundation built this season positions the program for continued success. With returning starters Francisco Ryan, Kaelem Grewal, and Patrick Nicholson gaining valuable experience, and a culture centered on competitiveness, accountability, and pride, the future of Oratory Prep Middle School soccer is extremely bright. This group has set a standard that will carry forward as they continue their development within the Oratory Prep soccer program and build on this success.
