On the evening of Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Oratory Prep’s Admissions Department hosted its annual New Student Welcome Dinner, bringing together newly enrolled students and their families for a night of fellowship, introductions, and excitement for the year ahead.
Before the formal program began, the DeGaeta Gymnasium was alive with conversation as new families connected over shared hometowns, travel sports, prior schools, and parish ties. The warm, spirited atmosphere carried throughout the evening—and into the parking lot as new friendships began to form.
Director of Enrollment Mr. Tom Boniello kicked off the program by introducing key members of the Oratory leadership team and presenting a slideshow that highlighted the unique qualities of the incoming class. School Chaplain Fr. Matthew Dooley reflected on the role of faith in the OP experience and led the group in prayer.
Mr. Bruce Van Hoven, Director of Music, introduced the school's exciting international travel opportunities, while Mrs. Paula Pastore encouraged families to get involved through the Oratory Parent Guild. Associate Head of School Mr. Owen McGowan then moderated a lively student Q&A panel, offering incoming families insight into daily life at OP. Head of School Mr. Bob Costello closed the evening with personal stories of the Brotherhood he has witnessed firsthand as a faculty member and varsity baseball coach.
Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner courtesy of the DPG Partnership Group, adding to the warm and welcoming spirit of the evening.
We look forward to officially welcoming these students to campus at New Student Orientation on Tuesday, August 26, 2025—just around the corner!
