The St. Philip Neri Club won the Jefferson Award Students In Action Gold Medal banner for public volunteer service. They were also awarded Second Place for the New Jersey Regional Competition, one point shy from competing in the Nationals. This recognition belongs to all of the OP students, "Brothers, doing good in the world". We are a brotherhood, a family, helping our brothers and sisters in need. A special thank you to the Staff for instilling the spirit of service leadership in our students.
Coach Devlin comes to Oratory with a wealth of experience to take over as Head Varsity Baseball Coach. Previously, he held the position of Head Varsity Baseball Coach for the Princeton Day School (PDS), where he worked for more than 10 years (1999-2009). While with PDS, Devlin’s team earned 145 wins and 35 losses, and was a two-time winner of the Prep B State Championships. During his tenure with PDS, Devlin was also honored three times as Coach of the Year by the Star Ledger. From 2009-2011, Devlin also managed several elite travel teams that have won many National Championships and AAU State Championships. For the past 5 seasons Coach Devlin was the head coach at Dwight Englewood where he also compiled a winning record.
The Oratory Prep Summer Academy offers educational, athletic, and recreational programs for boys and girls, grades 5-12. All camps and courses run weekdays throughout July and August. Both Oratory staff and local, reputable organizations will team up to present athletic camps such as lacrosse and basketball. Joseph Nowacki, senior at Oratory Prep and Boy Scout in Troop 118 in Denville, has completed all requirements and passed his Eagle Board of Review, earning the rank of Eagle Scout on March 27th. A formal Eagle Court of Honor will be held in June.
OP Model UN Club had a successful second conference at St. Peter's University on Monday, March 12th. The team had a strong showing, capped off by Jack Mogen and Jack Anderson being named "Honorable Mention Delegation" in their committee.
