Ways to Give

Oratory Prep can also accept gifts by credit card. We accept American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. You can give online, or call the Office of Advancement at 908-273-1084 ext. 2.

MATCHING GIFTS

Many employers match contributions made to charitable organizations. In addition, spouses’ employers may also match personal contributions as well. In most cases, you will need to fill out a company form and enclose it with your gift. Please check with your companies’ personnel or human resource department for information and matching gift forms.

GIFTS OF APPRECIATED SECURITIES (Stocks, Bonds and Mutual Funds)

Gifts of appreciated securities (Stocks, Bonds and Mutual Funds) are accepted. Securities are an excellent gift, particularly if they have appreciated in value, because the full market value of the stocks is deductible, not just the original purchase price. Thus, you can avoid paying capital gains taxes on the appreciated value. Please consult a tax accountant or financial advisor for assistance in these gift choices. DONOR ADVISED FUND (DAF)

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a type of giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support your favorite charities. An increasingly popular charitable vehicle, DAFs are an excellent way to both simplify your charitable giving and facilitate your strategic philanthropic goals. GIFTS OF REAL PROPERTY

The school will accept gifts of real estate. Sale of a residence, vacation home, farm, acreage or vacant lot that has appreciated in value could mean significant capital gain taxes. A gift of property eliminates the capital gains taxes and offers a charitable donation deduction. It is also possible that you and your spouse can continue living in your home as long as you wish, with the house passing to Oratory at your death.

GIFTS OF LIFE INSURANCE

The school will accept fully paid life insurance policies for which the donor has transferred ownership to Oratory Prep.

HONORARY OR MEMORIAL GIFTS

The school is happy to accept gifts and donations to Oratory Prep made in honor or in memory of family, friends, and other members of the Oratory Prep community.
