Director of College Counseling

Oratory Prep's College Counseling program takes an individualized and holistic approach to each student's college process and post-secondary plans. The term students will often hear is "good fit," not "perfect." There are many environments where students can thrive, become an active member of their community, and feel comfortable to challenge themselves appropriately and test their limits. While students might have a preference, we know they will thrive as long as they are mindful of this throughout their college search process.

As a student driven process, we believe that students should take the lead. Students are building a list of schools that are good fits for them and where they can see themselves attending for four years. Additionally, college admissions counselors want to hear directly from students and read essays in a 17-18 year old's voice. For these reasons, we feel students should be in the driver's seat as they research colleges, apply to schools, and manage their deadlines.

We take a collaborative approach with students and families to consider their options, answer questions, and provide updates in this everchanging field. Students and parents/guardians are encouraged to reach out to their college counselor and take advantage of the numerous college counseling events that take place throughout the year.
