Oratory Preparatory School is located in suburban Summit, New Jersey. Oratory students come from many towns throughout New Jersey. Our students reach Oratory by taking the school bus, train, or car pool.
Busing is available for parts of Essex, Union and Somerset counties. Morris County provides their own transportation service. Route schedules and times are adjusted annually to meet the needs of our students. The public school district from which transportation is being requested must be a district in which transportation is provided for public school pupils. There is a state reimbursement paid through the local Boards of Education for the eligible private school students not provided with bus transportation by the local Boards.
A number of our students take the train to Oratory. The Summit Train Station can be accessed directly by using the Gladstone Branch or the Morristown Branch. There are other trains that connect to Summit via other routes. The Summit Train Station is within walking distance of the school. We also provide a shuttle free of charge to our students that will make three pick-ups from the station in the morning and two after school to the station.
