Parents as the Supporters of the School

Welcome to the parents’ section of the Oratory website. This section is devoted to addressing the needs of school parents, primarily through our communication about the Oratory Parents Guild.

The Parents Guild’s purpose is to build a sense of community among the parents of Oratory students, to conduct fundraising in order to enhance the quality of education at Oratory, and to promote interaction among parents and between parents and the administration and faculty.

Our primary way to do this is by hosting and volunteering for events encompassing a wide range of fundraisers, parent events and school events. You can read about some of them on this website’s pages, with our biggest ones being Oratory’s annual Gala, a Fashion Show, Father/Son Communion Breakfast, foreign language Masses, parents’ Christmas Party, family Mass, and Ram Day.

Through our executive board, we also facilitate communications between parents and the school. We have approximately 15 parents who meet monthly to coordinate activities of the Parents Guild as well as communicate with the Head of School about issues of interest to parents.

Fundamentally, our agenda is simple – to do everything we can as parents to further the Catholic educational mission of Oratory for our sons and future generations of young men. While doing that, our parents can feel a part of the school, volunteering to help in hundreds of tangible ways, and getting to meet new friends who are working with them toward a common goal.
